I am grateful to IILM Academy of Higher Learning & Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) for making this programme possible. My deep commitment & concerns for the well being of humanity through Veena & persistence of today’s Convener, Dr. Ashok Bapna made me to be a part of this important conference on “Making Way for the Feminine: for the Benefit of the World Community” organized by Global Peace Initiative of Women (GPIW), New York. I bow to the feminine spirit. I believe only they can bring about a transformation of human consciousness”. Through the strings of his veena Panditji paid a rich tribute to the Divine Strength – Shakti – of women and the Feminine principles of love, compassion and caring which can no doubt transform us completely and make us really good human beings. The first composition depicted feminine strength and the power of women. His second composition was based on the theme that music spreads love, affection and harmony and that the whole universe can be united through the seven musical notes. His third and the last composition was on “Lori – the lullaby” which was dedicated to motherhood and women as creator of the universe. In the end, Ms. Dena Merriam, the founder and convener of Global Peace Initiative of Women (GPIW), New York, presented a vote of thanks.
