Upon motion of Councilor Rosalinda L. Bondal, duly seconded the following
resolution was passed on second and third reading:
RESOLUTION NO. 279
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HON. MAYOR TO
RENEW THE CONTRACT OF SERVICES WITH THE MAKATI
MEDICAL CENTER WHICH EXPIRES ON JUNE 30, 1990, FOR
ANOTHER PERIOD FROM JULY 1, 1990 TO DEC. 31, 1990, FOR
THE USE/LEASE OF ITS MEDICAL FACILITIES FOR
CONFINEMENT OF 75 MEDICALLY INDIGENT PATIENTS OF
MAKATI AT THE RATE OF P1.8 MILLION A MONTH; AND
APPROVING IN PRINCIPLE A SUPPLEMENTAL
APPROPRIATIONS OF P10.8 MILLINOS TO COVER THE COST
THEREOF.
WHEAREAS, the Municipality of Makati represented by Mayor Jejomar C.
Binay and the Makati Medical Center, represented by its Medical Director, Dr.
Raul Fores, entered into Contract of Services for the use/lease of Medical facilities of

the latter, for the confinement of medically indigents citizens of Makati, f from Jan.
1, 1990 to June 30, 1990, which has already expired;
WHEREAS, both the MMC and the Municipality of Makati are actually
committed to service the needs of medically indigents citizens of Makati and
therefore expresses their desire to renew their contract of services, with
amendments, particularly on the increase of the contract price, which is justified by
the inflationary cost of the medical supplies and hospital services,
BE IT RESOVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Municipal
council in session assembled to authorize the Mayor to renew the contract of
services with Makati Medical Center for another period, from July 1, 1990 to Dec.
31, 1990, for the use/lease of Medical facilities for confinement of 75 medical
indigents of Makati at the rate of P1.8 Million a month. Resolved further to
approved in principle the appropriation of P10.8 Million to cover the cost of the said
contract of lease.
