A university professor was killed and another one injured in two separate bombings in
Tehran on Monday morning.
The two academics were identified as the late Majid Shahriari and Fereydoun Abbasi
Davani of the Physics Department of Tehran’s Shahid Beheshti University. (Mehr News

Hamas political bureau chief Khaled Mashal met with Iranian Majlis speaker Ali Larijani in
Tehran’s embassy in Damascus on Monday.
In the meeting Larijani said today people in the world cherish “resistance” against
invaders, a reference to the Palestinians’ resistance against the Zionist occupiers.
Larijani also stated all indications suggest that the U.S. and NATO have reached a dead
end in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He went on to say that many countries have found out about the evil nature of Zionist
regime of Israel especially after its attack on the Freedom Flotilla in international waters.
The senior Iranian politician also said Israel has closed the doors to all those who favored
dialogue with Israel, a reference to the Palestinian Authority and those Arab states who
had been pinning their hope on peace talks with Tel Aviv.
He said Palestinians including the Gazans will never compromise on their honor to
defend their land.
Pointing to vain attempts by the United States to create discord among the Iraqis and
postpone the formation of government in Baghdad, Larijani said the Iraqi leaders
disappointed Washington by manifesting their unity by agreeing to form a government.
He went on to say that the destiny of the region is not shaped by the global powers and
it is the people of region who are building their own future.
