COMMODORE’S REPORT
Dominic Papaluca reports:
Hello Members,
Just a short note this month…as we are busy preparing for the Half-Yearly meeng of Members in March.
Management, Administraon and Governance
Doug is seling in nicely. I’m sure most of you have seen him around the club by now. He is learning
more and more each day…exactly how much goes on at our lile club!
Finance
We are squirrelling as much money away as we can at the moment. We actually hit $1M in the bank
during January…of course this is due to the way we bill every 6 months. However, it is great to see. We
can thank some good management along the way, and it all started with John Allpike making everything
more cost-effecve. External Funcons have been completely turned around since Jennifer has been
here. Also, Internal Funcons are closer to break-even now. So we are meeng our budgets in virtually
all respects. We have some big projects coming up…and we are trying to prepare ourselves as much as
possible for them.
Capital Works Program
As menoned last month, some of the smaller projects will be commenced in the next few months,
namely: the ladies toilets upstairs; the downstairs toilets/change rooms etc. A-West refurbishment will
probably cost more than we think…so we are looking at that right now…and trying to save up as much as
we can for it. We have heard back from the Swan River Trust regarding our H Jey submission, and are
working through their requirements at the moment. We will let you know once final approval is
received…it will take some me yet.

Hooray! Your file is uploaded and ready to be published.
