Meeting Information
Safety Hints
1. For emergency aid of any type, dial 911 from any
telephone outside the Marriott Wardman Park. Please
consult the material located in your guest room at the
hotel for emergency procedures and use of phones inside
the hotel.
2. For emergency aid at the hotel, dial 0 and provide the
hotel operator with more details regarding the nature of
your emergency. Emergency aid and security assistance are
available at the Marriott Wardman Park 24-hours per day.
3. Please review the fire safety procedure information posted
in your guest room at the hotel upon check-in and arrival
in your room. It is important to note the location of fire
exits in relation to your guest room.
4. If you plan to attend activities outside the hotel and have
concerns about the surrounding neighborhood(s), please
don’t hesitate to ask the Concierge to provide additional
information on the areas around the hotel so you can
enjoy Washington, D.C. safely.
5. DO NOT wear your Annual Meeting name badge outside
the hotel.
6. DO NOT answer the door of your guest room without
verifying the inquiring individual’s identity.
7. When returning to the hotel or your guest room during
evening hours, always use the main/front entrance of the
Marriott Wardman Park located at 2660 Woodley Road,
NW. Remember to be observant and aware of your
surroundings inside the hotel and parking facilities (if
applicable).
8. When entering your guest room, close the door securely
behind you and utilize the provided locking devices.
9. Always keep your guest room key in a safe place on your
person. DO NOT carry your guest room key along with
any documentation of your room number.
10. DO NOT invite strangers into your guest room.
11. Please be sure to place all valuables in the safe in your
guest room or in the hotel’s safe deposit box if a safe is
not available in your room.
12. DO NOT leave any items of value in your vehicle in the
hotel parking facility. Be sure to lock all windows and
doors in your guest room.
SBM Business Meeting
All SBM Members are invited to attend the Annual SBM
Business Meeting on Saturday, March 24 from 8:30 am to
9:30 am in Maryland Suite A, Lobby Level of the Marriott
Wardman Park. We look forward to seeing you there!
SBM Fellows Announcement
The following individuals have recently been advanced to the
status of Fellow within SBM. New Fellows will be officially
recognized during the Presidential and Memorial Address and
Awards Ceremony on Thursday, March 22 from 10:45 am to
12:15 pm in the Cotillion Ballroom, Mezzanine Level.

Speaker Resource Center
The Speaker Resource Center is located in Cleveland 2,
Mezzanine Level of the Marriott Wardman Park. SBM asks
that all speakers report to the Speaker Resource Center upon
arrival in Washington, D.C. to submit any powerpoint
presentations. The Speaker Resource Center will be staffed by
a technician who can assist with questions or troubleshooting
issues during the hours listed in the following section.

Special Dietary Requirements
If a session you’ve registered for offers a meal and you have
special dietary requirements (i.e., if you are a vegetarian,
allergic, diabetic, etc.) an alternative option can be made
available. Please see an SBM Staff member at the on-site
registration desk, Convention Registration Desk 2, Convention
Lobby, Lobby Level of the Marriott Wardman Park.
