LP/TLP 2844 Product Overview
1. Simple Loading – OpenACCESS
With Zebra’s OpenACCESS design, the LP/TLP 2844’s print head is integrated as a
part of the printer cover assembly. The media path and media compartment are fully
accessible when the printer is open. Printer loading is accomplished in a matter of
seconds, and in case of unexpected jams from errant media or for maintenance
requirements, this revolutionary design allows completely unobstructed access. The
thermal transfer model incorporates the ribbon mechanism in the printer lid. This
feature facilitates ribbon loading by providing easy access to the mechanism, with no
tight spaces to negotiate.
2. Self Centering Media Guides
The self-centering spring loaded guide provides a simple media loading procedure.
The guides are spring loaded which allows for a single-handed operation. This userfriendly
design ensures proper loading and correct alignment for any media.
3. Rugged Design
The printer enclosure, both top lid and bottom cover, is made from lightweight but
very rugged plastic. Double wall construction greatly increases the printer durability,
and gives a strong, solid feel to the LP/TLP 2844.
4. Foolproof Design for Exceptional Ease-of-Use
Color-coded components and an LED indicator add to the operating simplicity of
these printer models. This means less training and easier operation regardless of
user’s level of experience. In addition, the printer’s media autosense feature
eliminates set-up time when changing media.
5. Easy Maintenance
The combination of the OpenACCESS design and innovative features in the print
head and enclosure design make this printer simple to maintain and service. The
print head can be removed and replaced without use of any tools. The 2844
electronics platform is accessible by removing a few simple screws. All connectors
are color coded or keyed for simple assembly and disassembly. The platen roller is
readily removable, making cleaning or replacement only a matter of seconds.
6. Media Handling
The 2844 printers are capable of handling a large variety of media. The LP 2844
printer is designed to print on direct thermal material including receipt paper, labels,
and tags. The TLP 2844 uses thermal transfer technology, using heat to transfer ink
from specialized ribbons to the label. Ribbon types include polyester, wax and
wax/resin.
Media supply to both models can be internal or external, roll or fan-fold configuration.
The standard metal tear bar guarantees clean tears of paper and labels. Standard
see-through and reflective sensors ensure that the top of form is accurately
positioned when using media with gap, notch, or black mark. When installed, the
