The La.boratori Nazionali di Frasc.ati (LNF) of I.stituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (IN~N),<br />

Italy, have been I-.~<br />

- recognized by the European Union as a Major Research Infrastructure, for the penod 1 March 2000 - ~I<br />

~ 28 February 2003 (Contract No. HPRI-CT-1999-00088). This Contract offers the opportunity for European ~<br />

~ research groups, perform<strong>in</strong>g or plann<strong>in</strong>g a research activity at LNF, to il<br />

. to cover subsistence and travel expenses. :<br />

The only eligible research teams (made of one or more researchers) are those that conduct their research .<br />

~ activity <strong>in</strong> the E.U. Member States, other than Italy, or <strong>in</strong> the Associated States.<br />

~ Proposals must be submitted <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g us<strong>in</strong>g the Application Forms that can be downloaded from our website.<br />

~ They must describe the research project that the group wishes to carry out at the LNF, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the number<br />

~ of researchers <strong>in</strong>volved, the duration of the project and the research facility of <strong>in</strong>terest. Submitted proposals<br />

. will be evaluated on the basis of scientific merit and <strong>in</strong>terest for the European Community by a Users Selection<br />

Panel of <strong>in</strong>ternational experts. The results will be communicated to the Group Leaders. Applications must be<br />

Responsability: This is a full time appo<strong>in</strong>tment compris<strong>in</strong>g at least<br />

6 hours ofteach<strong>in</strong>g per week and research activities <strong>in</strong><br />

the area of condensed matter physics. The successful<br />

candidate is expected to conduct a vigorous research<br />

programme <strong>in</strong> the field of theoretical condensed<br />

matter physics with emphasis on strongly <strong>in</strong>teract<strong>in</strong>g<br />

electron systems.<br />
