A. Staff Orientation<br />
The programme can be <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> new staff members’ orientation, and presented<br />
by <strong>the</strong> Resident Nurse or <strong>the</strong> Environmental <strong>Health</strong> & Safety Manager. Topics would<br />
<strong>in</strong>clude:<br />

Resources: Tra<strong>in</strong>ers from reputable organisations, tra<strong>in</strong>ed staff peer educators, use<br />
of tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g videos, toolkits, manuals, edu -drama sessions, and <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation brochures<br />
and pamphlets and posters.<br />
Staff peer educators and counsellors should be tra<strong>in</strong>ed and certified by a reputable<br />
organisation specializ<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> private sector <strong>HIV</strong> workplace programm<strong>in</strong>g (BHTA, MoT,<br />
MH, AID Inc, CHAT, AIDS Foundation, BEC, BWU, etc.<br />
B. Employee Brief<strong>in</strong>gs<br />
! Many properties already conduct regular brief<strong>in</strong>gs where issues of <strong>HIV</strong>/AIDS can<br />
be <strong>in</strong>corporated at least once per week.<br />
! This should be extended to all departments.<br />
Resources: Tra<strong>in</strong>ed Peer educators can deliver <strong>the</strong> relevant messages.<br />
C. Heads of department meet<strong>in</strong>g (or health and safety committee meet<strong>in</strong>g<br />
with department heads)<br />
! <strong>HIV</strong>/AIDS matters should be discussed at your regular Management/Heads<br />
of Department meet<strong>in</strong>gs. Reports should be provided on recent activities and<br />
accomplishments and upcom<strong>in</strong>g events discussed.<br />
