<strong>The</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Orthopaedic <strong>Surgery</strong> at the University<br />

<strong>of</strong> South Carolina is seeking full-time, BC/BE, fellowship<br />

trained surgeons in adult reconstruction, hand and upper<br />

extremity, and foot and ankle surgery. This young, rapidly<br />

growing department provides care for a metropolitan area <strong>of</strong><br />

about 500,000 and a major Division I University team.<br />

We are looking for individuals to join this growing practice<br />

with responsibilities for clinical care, teaching and research.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Orthopedic <strong>Surgery</strong> at LSUHSC-Shreveport is seeking<br />

an Assistant/Associate/Full Pr<strong>of</strong>essor basic science researcher. This candidate<br />

will help shape the future <strong>of</strong> the orthopedic research section with substantial<br />

resources allocated from the LSU Foundation to build on the current<br />

biomechanics, biomaterials, and histology laboratories within the department.<br />

Besides the biomechanics laboratory, the biomaterials laboratory has developed<br />

tissue culture techniques to grow cartilage and bone cells to supplement<br />

research efforts. Within LSU Health Shreveport, the department has access to<br />

an AAALAC accredited animal research facility.<br />

In addition to independent research, this individual will be involved in the<br />

research training <strong>of</strong> orthopedic residents and interact with the orthopedic<br />

faculty. Orthopedic subspecialty interest in trauma related research is preferred.<br />

Applicants should have a PhD and/or MD with relevant postgraduate<br />

experience. Academic rank will be commensurate with credentials and<br />
