SHOULDER AND ELBOW<br />

SURGEON POSITION<br />

<strong>The</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Orthopaedics at <strong>The</strong> Warren<br />

Alpert Medical School <strong>of</strong> Brown University is<br />

seeking a fellowship trained, board certified/<br />

eligible surgeon to join the Division <strong>of</strong><br />

Shoulder and Elbow <strong>Surgery</strong> as Associate<br />

Director <strong>of</strong> the Division and Co-Director <strong>of</strong><br />

the Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship. This<br />

is an academic full-time faculty position<br />

at the Assistant/Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor level.<br />

<strong>The</strong> successful applicant must be broadly<br />

trained in shoulder and elbow surgery and<br />

have demonstrated a commitment to teaching<br />

and research related to shoulder and elbow<br />

disorders with a strong record <strong>of</strong> academic<br />

productivity. <strong>The</strong> Division <strong>of</strong> Shoulder and<br />

Elbow <strong>Surgery</strong>, under the direction <strong>of</strong> Andrew<br />

Green, MD, services a broad spectrum <strong>of</strong><br />

patients from throughout Southeastern New<br />

England. In addition, Rhode Island Hospital<br />

is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the<br />

region. He/she would work with the surgeonin-charge,<br />

Andrew Green, M.D. in supervising<br />

and teaching fellows, residents, and medical<br />

students. <strong>The</strong> department has extensive basic<br />

science research facilities, as well as a surgical<br />

arthroscopy and bioskills laboratory. He/she<br />

would either be expected to interact with the<br />

orthopaedic research laboratories or be active<br />

in clinical outcomes research. Rank and<br />

<strong>The</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Orthopaedic <strong>Surgery</strong> at the Stanford<br />

University School <strong>of</strong> Medicine seeks an academic spine<br />

surgeon to join the department during the next 12 months.<br />

This faculty position will be at the Assistant, Associate, or<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essor level in the Medical Center Line (MCL). <strong>The</strong> major<br />

criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line<br />

shall be excellence in the overall mix <strong>of</strong> clinical care, clinical<br />

teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine,<br />

and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need<br />

the individual is expected to fulfill. <strong>The</strong> candidate must be<br />

board eligible/certified in orthopaedic surgery with fellowship<br />

training in spine surgery. Faculty rank will be determined by the<br />

qualifications and experience <strong>of</strong> the successful candidate.<br />
