Hurricane Hanna had become a tropical storm by the time it hit<br />
Washington, DC, but it still had an influence on things.<br />
The day trips to Washington had to be canceled and there were<br />
some fun activities scheduled for them, and they seemed to be<br />
having a lot of good times. I did drive out to buy some<br />
tournament supplies and I can assure you that when Phyllis urged<br />
people to stay indoors it was a good piece of advice. The drive<br />
was perilous and visibility was very difficulty. I got back to the<br />
hotel and decided that I would, indeed, stay indoors for the rest<br />
of the day. The forecasts indicated as much as 5-7 inches of rain<br />
this afternoon.<br />
Outside my window it was coming down as sheets of rain.<br />
