Description (Figure 7) Plant: narrow bushy to bushy. Young<br />

shoot: anthocyanin colouration medium, colour reddish<br />

brown to reddish purple. Thorns: absent. Leaf: size medium<br />

to large, colour dark green, glossiness upper surface weak.<br />

Terminal leaflet: cross section flat, undulation medium,<br />

length medium to long (mean 77.2mm), width medium<br />

(mean 41.7mm), base shape rounded, petiolule; length<br />

medium (mean 20.8mm). Flowering shoot: flower number<br />

few. Flower pedicel: number of thorns many. Flower bud:<br />

shape ovate. Flower: type double, petal number very few to<br />

few, diameter medium (mean 88.5mm), view from above<br />

irregularly round, upper profile flattened convex, lower<br />

profile flat, fragrance weak. Sepal: length medium (mean<br />

34.8mm), extensions medium to strong. Flower petal: size<br />

medium to large, reflexed margin medium to strong, margin<br />

undulations weak, inside surface; colour middle zone and<br />

margin, light reddish pink RHS 35D (middle zone RHS<br />

43D, margin RHS 49A), basal spot present, size medium to<br />

large, colour yellow RHS 9B (RHS 3D), outside surface;<br />

colour middle zone and margin light reddish pink RHS 38C<br />

(midzone RHS 51D, margin RHS 50D), basal spot present,<br />

size medium to large, colour yellow RHS 9B (RHS 3B).<br />

Stamen: colour yellow. Style: colour medium red. Stigma<br />

well above anther. Seed vessel: size medium, shape pear.<br />

‘Kortexung’ syn Europa) x (unnamed seedling x<br />

growth habit, cut flower under greenhouse conditions.<br />

Propagation: vegetatively through numerous generations.<br />

Comparative Trial Description based on official German<br />

PBR documents, and data confirmed by local observations<br />

and measurements. Location: Silvan South, VIC (Latitude<br />

35º50’ south, elevation 220m), Autumn-winter 1997.<br />

Conditions: trial conducted in an environmentally controlled<br />

greenhouse for continuous flower production; plants<br />

propagated from cuttings, when rooted established in 300mm<br />

pots filled with soilless medium (scoria), fed hydroponically,<br />

full nutrition; plants trained and pruned by modern techniques<br />

used for cut flower production. Trial design: grown as double<br />

rows in production blocks along with other varieties.<br />

Measurements: minimum of 20 random samples from 20<br />

plants. The qualified person considers ‘Korsorb’ A syn<br />

Cubana A to be the closest known comparator in <strong>Australia</strong>.<br />

reddish brown. Thorns: density low, size uniform size, long<br />

(mean 6.2mm), slim, upper side slightly concave, lower side<br />

concave. Leaf: size medium, colour medium to dark green,<br />

glossiness upper surface dull to weak. Terminal leaflet:<br />

cross section flat, undulation mainly absent, length medium<br />

to long (mean 63mm), width medium (mean 31mm), base<br />

shape obtuse, petiolule; length medium (mean 17mm).<br />

Flowering shoot: flower number few, usually single. Flower<br />

pedicel: colourless hairs few, small thorns few towards base.<br />

Flower bud: shape ovate. Flower: type double, petal number<br />

many (30-35), diameter medium (mean 86mm), view from<br />

above irregularly round, upper profile flattened convex,<br />

lower profile concave, fragrance weak. Sepal: length<br />

medium (mean 35), extensions medium to strong. Flower<br />

petal: size medium, reflexed margins medium to strong,<br />

downward reflexion strong with age, margin undulations<br />

weak, inside surface; colour middle zone and margin, white<br />

near RHS 155A, basal spot; absent, outside surface; colour<br />

middle zone and margin white near RHS 155A, basal spot<br />

absent. Outer petals often with greenish hue. Stamen:<br />

colour yellow. Style: colour white. Stigma slightly below<br />

anther. Seed vessel: size medium, shape pitcher. Flowering:<br />

remontant.<br />
