DT5780 Digital Multi Channel Analyzer NEW The DT5780 is a complete digital system for X and Gamma ray spectroscopy. A compact, stand alone digital MCA houses a two channel, 14 bit, 100 MS/s digitizer (see Mod. DT5724A), two HV channels able to supply a bias voltage up to ±5 kV, 300 uA and two connectors for the power supply of preamplifiers and detector temperature readout. A cost effective and compact spectroscopy solution featuring CAEN HV, digitizer and digital Pulse Height Analysis. DT5780 relies on DPP-PHA, a dedicated firmware developed for Pulse Height Analysis. DPP-PHA performs an advanced on line Digital Pulse Processing allowing an effective data analysis even at high count rate, taking in account baseline restoration, ballistic deficit correction, pileup rejection and live correction of the Energy spectrum, allowing quantitative analysis even for sources with unsteady activities. Thanks to the two channels simultaneous acquisition, the module is able to manage coincidence and anti coincidence between a pair of detectors, allowing the user, for example, to easily take advantage of background rejection or anti-Compton techniques. The MCA performs the function of collecting the input signals and producing an output, in the form of the converted values of the input signals’ peaks. The input pulses can be the ones produced by a standard spectroscopy amplifier’s output. They can be Gaussian, semi-Gaussian or square waves, unipolar (positive) or bipolar, in a range from 0 to 10 V, with a rise time greater than 0.1 µs. The trigger can be either “on signal” (Auto Gate mode) or “external” (External Gate mode). In the first case a discriminator, with a settable threshold, enables the conversion. In the second case, an external gate is fed to the module via a front panel GATE connector. The input channel has a peak amplitude stretcher, whose output is digitised by a 13- bit ADC featuring a sliding scale technique, to improve the differential non-linearity. Converted waveforms are stored into a 64 kSamples buffer memory. The unit hosts an USB2.0 port, which allows a simple control and data-acquisition via PC. Libraries for Windows and Linux are available. The N1728 operates in “Oscilloscope” mode, continuously storing waveforms (10 ms wide buffer with pre-trigger capability) and can be set also in “Energy” mode, thus providing, together with scope function, a real time trapezoidal shaping, with a wide range of programmable filter parameters, and energy measurement. A dedicated digital trigger algorithm allows very low energy threshold operation, thus ensuring immunity to noise effects.
