The Roll•a•matic is the first operator of its
kind especially designed for continuous sheet
curtain doors. This uniquely engineered
unit will provide you with an economic,
dependable, high quality operator.
The Drive Unit remains the only operator
available with an orbiting drive motor fully
housed within the coil of the door. Inherent
to the unit is a unique manual release system
which, when disengaged, allows the orbital
motor to freewheel. By attaching an optional
release cable, the door user can disengage
the drive motor from ground level. The
operator easily slides into position at the
drive end of the door. The only other work
involved is in attaching the wall-mounted
control box and the setting of the limit
switches.
Installation of a door with the Drive Unit
requires no more additional side room than
that of a manual push-up door.
Power supply required to the wall-mounted
Control Box is standard 120VAC. All control
circuits and wiring to the Drive Unit are a low
24 volt DC. The Drive Unit accommodates
one 1/3 HP DC motor. The Control Box
features three buttons for the UP, DOWN and
STOP functions, providing convenient, safe
and secure operation of the door.
The Roll•a•matic has been tested by the
Underwriters Laboratory, and has been
thoroughly evaluated and successfully
marketed worldwide.

The Drive Unit 1/3HP DC Motor is
mounted to a steel adapter plate and has
a special gear head that projects into and
meshes with the main planetary gear
housing, which remains stationary for
motor operation.
The drive force of the motor gear head
rotates the motor, along with the drum
wheel and door curtain, around the fixed
planetary gear.
Door travel is controlled by open and
close limit switches, which are actuated
by cam gears that are completely
adjustable to suit door height. Easy
access is provided.
Door travel limit switch settings are
not disturbed if the door is switched to
manual operation, since the cam gears
are rotated only by the actual travel of
the door curtain. Settings are not lost
during power failure either.

The Control Box is a fully insulated enclosure that contains the
logic circuitry which includes overload protection. A three-station
push button with UP-DOWN-STOP is furnished in the control box
as standard.
Emergency Operation: In case of power failure, a simple lever
action withdraws a plunger from the main planetary gear, which
then makes it connect directly to the coil of the door.
A cut-out switch automatically deactivates all power to the motor,
while the lever is set to manual.
Minimal Field Installation is required for the control box and
push button station, which is wall-mounted in close proximity to
the door.
