sharing with
people is a way
of finding release
they’re still there. I’m not going to fall any
further than that point.
How do I fight this?
My fight is to keep believing in what I call
“the wholeness of God”: believing He is for
me, is healing me. Carrying on with my life
despite the depression (that is the hardest and
I’m still learning). Looking after other people.
Sharing with people helps; they bring you out of
yourself and can help you see again.
Prayer is key: having a relationship with
God; taking time to talk to him. And letting
other people pray for and with me. Looking
at how God has healed me. The steps I have
already trod.
This question conceals the biggest lie I get in
my head during depressed periods. There are
other people who suffer with depression and
other people who understand what I’m going
through. Letting people in is a way to find that
out. Shutting people out reinforces isolation.
People want to help in most cases.
Sharing with people is a way of finding
release. Building up anxiety and letting
thoughts go round and round my head doesn’t
help me get through depression.
I hold on to trust in God’s healing, daily and
hourly. God is good and I look forward to more
of His healing grace.
