University Honors Program
Looking for an extra challenge? Check out how K-State’s honors program
can help you customize your undergraduate experience to fit your dreams.
You’ll take special classes, work with K-State’s top professors and study
with other students who want to excel. And you’ll interact with students
from all the colleges at K-State.

Honors projects
During your junior or senior year you’ll
be challenged to tie your interests and
experiences together with an honors
project or thesis. You’ll write up results
from a scientific experiment, pen a major
research paper or produce your own
creative work.
Examples of past projects include
studying the “fool” characters in
Shakespeare’s plays, an experiment
with anticancer compounds and an
examination of the relationship between
oil flow control and food machinery.
How are honors classes different?
They often tackle several subjects at once — for example, the economics of
environmental chemistry, or Shakespeare and the law.
They often include field trips and guest speakers.
They take broad approaches to hot topics, such as Islam’s relationship to the West.
Program requirements
To join the program, you should have:
A high school GPA of 3.75 or above and
An ACT score of 28 or above and
Complete a short entrance application, available at
k-state.edu/ksuhonors/application
You may also be considered based on factors such as leadership activities
or extracurricular experiences.
