Student government at K-State
Students have opportunities to make K-State an even
better university. Student governance organizations
allow opinions to be heard, relationships to be
strengthened and changes to be made.
Student Governing Association
Other opportunities
SGA represents the student body and cooperates with faculty and
staff, students and the colleges. Allocating more than $16 million in
privilege fees each year, the three branches — executive, legislative
and judicial — support the work of the campus.
SGA involvement can include running for an elected position or
applying for committee membership, a cabinet position or an
internship. New students can get involved early through the SGA
internship program in the fall of their freshman year. Find out more at

Take your leadership skills up a notch with one of K-State’s other student
governance organizations.
Residence halls
Association of Residence Halls members help shape the policies
for campus residence halls. Students also sponsor campuswide
activities and represent K-State at regional and national
conferences.
The Hall Governing Board provides leadership within each hall.
Leaders administer policies and procedures for their specific halls
and plan activities for residents.
The Judicial Board helps influence the residence hall community
by addressing inappropriate behavior while ensuring the residents’
right to due process.
Greek life
Each Greek chapter has officers and committee chairs selected to
provide leadership. Councils represent Greek life to the university
community and provide programming, coordination and leadership
development for members.
Other Greek leadership opportunities include the Interfraternity
Council, serving fraternities; the Panhellenic Council, serving
sororities; and the National Pan-Hellenic Council Inc., serving
multicultural fraternities and sororities. For more Greek life

College councils
Each academic college has a student council that sponsors activities
and events, allocates funds and represents the student voice in
issues impacting the college.
Honor Council
Students on the Honor and Integrity System’s Honor Council
serve as case investigators and hearing panelists in the event of a
potential honor code violation.
