Becoming a Wildcat
“Since being here I’ve really learned to step
out of my comfort zone and meet new
people. The relationships I’ve formed here
since my freshman year are some that will
last a lifetime.”
Major decisions
Once I got to K-State and learned more about the psychology program, I realized that
there is a world of career options that you can pursue with this major, and that really
excited me.
Memorable moment
One moment I will never forget is my first presentation for the Developing Scholars
program. I really felt like I’d accomplished something huge here at K-State and that I had
found my niche within the university.

Going Greek
“I knew that I wanted to be a part of
Greek life. My senior year of high school
I came and visited the house and was
completely impressed by how genuine
the guys were. It was a huge deciding
factor for me as I chose my house.”
Making the transition
I think the toughest part of transitioning from high school to college
was learning new study skills. In high school I was able to study the
night before a test and do well, but in college I had to learn to start
preparing for exams days, if not weeks, before.
Home away from home
I love that I can just go to the union and people I don’t even know will
smile and have conversations with me, which is something that I don’t
think I could have found anywhere else.
Major decision
After exploring the industrial engineering department, I fell in love
with the courses offered and the people there. The projects and
assignments really get me excited about all the things I can do in the
future with my major.
Giving back
One of the coolest philanthropies I’ve gotten to be a part of since
I’ve been at K-State was a pancake feed that my fraternity and a
sorority on campus put on together to benefit the Boys and Girls
Club in Manhattan. It’s really neat to see so many people come to eat
pancakes and help us raise money for a great cause!
Exceeding expectations
I’ve met so many great people, got involved in activities that I never
knew existed and have a ton of memories already. Being a student
at K-State is an experience unlike any other and has surpassed all
expectations I had ever had.
