DPD in Russia Wins the ’2008 Company of the
Year’ National Award
Moscow, December 5 th , 2008 – In the 10 th annual ‘Company of the Year’
contest DPD in Russia has won ‘Company of the Year 2008’ National
Award, winning in the ‘Contribution to Industry Progress (Transportation
and Forwarding Services)’ special nomination.
The ‘Company of the Year’ award represents Russia’s annual biggest contest
where the achievements of Russia’s leading businesses in a variety of industries
for the past year are recognised. The 2008 award ceremony took place on
December 2 nd in Moscow Gostiny Dvor. It was attended by executives of
Russia’s leading companies, officials, politicians and celebrities. The award won
by DPD in Russia was presented to Sergey Kruglov, CEO DPD Russia and CIS
Cluster; the award was presented by Boris Notkin, Member of the Russian
Television Academy, Alexey Nemov, two-time Olympic Champion in artistic
gymnastics, and Alexander Borisov, General Director of Moscow International
Business Association.
The criteria for winning in special nominations include dynamic development,
high performance results, as well as information transparency. It is based on
these criteria that DPD in Russia was recognised the category’s best. In the past
months of 2008, DPD in Russia significantly increased the volume of shipment
carried, further expanded its regional network as well as the service portfolio.
Between January and October 2008 DPD in Russia delivered 3.7 million parcels
with the total weight of over 100 thousand tons, which represents a 40% year-on-

year growth. 7 new depots across Russia were opened. A new time-certain
domestic express service, DPD 13:00, was successfully launched. The solution
makes it possible to have parcels and freight delivered to Russia’s biggest cities
not later than 13:00 of a specified day. The new service features unmatched
financial guarantees including up to 100% money-back guarantee in case of late
delivery.
