2 0 0 9 2 0 1 0 2 0 11 1966 Collection ® Bar and Counter Height Fresh Air Collection Mateo ® Collection 1966 Bar and Counter Height Chairs and Tables 2009 The original 1966 Collection never had Bar or Counter Height chairs or tables. Now many people enjoy eating on higher chairs. The counter height chair is perfect to use in a kitchen, as it can be so easily washed. The higher tables are graceful and allow you to see over a railing when dining. The large square table looks so elegant. Fresh Air Collection 2010 The Fresh Air Collection is similar to Wing, in that it is made using the same technology. The tubular based chair has a nice spring to it, and I like its simplicity. The question of joining sheet metal is interesting to me, and I think that by creating tabs like you would when making a paper model we have achieved a beautiful detail. Mateo Collection 2011 With Mateo we have updated the 2002 Collection playing on a theme that has interested me for years – using thick and thin tubing to create a sculptural contrast in the chair. By using aluminum we are able to make special extrusion shapes that look simple from the outside but have carefully designed details on the inside that allow us to make hidden connections. You will never see a weld on our Mateo chairs or tables because the joints are all carefully engineered to allow for assembly without exterior welds. 17

I know that Pepsi had lots of chairs on their corporate terrace for years, and sometimes I would see the furniture in someone's home or on a record cover. Recently our furniture has been used in catalogs and in advertisements. It also has a dignified history of being used in movies such as the original Thomas Crown Affair of 1968 with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, Unbreakable of 2000 with Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson or on television in Sex and the City.
