I was never involved in selling the furniture at Knoll, but I remember that the salespeople were always excitedly telling me things like, “I just sold Frank Sinatra some of your
chairs.” Sometimes I didn't know whom they were talking about. I know that Pepsi had lots of chairs on their corporate terrace for years, and sometimes I would see the furniture
in someone's home or on a record cover. Recently our furniture has been used in catalogs and in advertisements. It also has a dignified history of being used in movies such as
the original Thomas Crown Affair of 1968 with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, Unbreakable of 2000 with Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson or on television in Sex and the City.
