LYSÁ HORA MOUNTAIN
20 km south-east
of Frýdek-Místek
Lysá Hora Mountain (1,324 metres above sea level) offers one of the most beautiful views in the Czech
Republic. Its vast massif visible from a long distance is made up of four bulk mountain ridges. They join in
a star-shaped pattern into the highest peak called Gigula, whose top is highlighted by a television transmitter.
From no other place in our republic can you see such a gorgeous panorama of mountain tops as from
Lysá Hora Mountain. In conditions of good visibility you can make out the Tatras on one side, the Jeseníky
Mountains on the other side. However, only the view opposite Smrk Mountain (Spruce Fir Mountain) or
Ondřejník across the dizzily deep valley of the Ostravice River provides an unforgettable experience.
