transcript requests. Review that report carefully, and advise the appellate<br />

clerk if there are discrepancies on the report.<br />

4. Upon Completion ofTranscript<br />

a. Prepare certificate of completion of transcript. See suggested <strong>for</strong>m at<br />

page 33 of this <strong>Handbook</strong>. The certificate of completion must identify the<br />

date ofhearing and the type of hearing transcribed. A certificate of<br />

completion should not be filed until an entire request is completed. Do not<br />

file partial certificates of completion.<br />

b. File original transcript and original of certificate of completion with the<br />

clerk of the district court. The court reporter's certified court reporter<br />

registration number assigned by the Supreme <strong>Court</strong> must appear on both.<br />

c. Serve a copy of the certificate of completion on all parties to the appeal<br />

and on the clerk of the appellate courts. The clerk may be served by mail or<br />

The appellate clerk will set briefing schedules based on the date the<br />

transcript was filed with the clerk of the district court. Do not ever serve a<br />

certificate of completion when the transcript has not actually been filed.<br />

d. Along with the copy of the certificate of completion mailed to the<br />

requesting attorney, include an invoice <strong>for</strong> the transcript. If advance<br />

payment has been made, include a refund <strong>for</strong> overpayment or bill <strong>for</strong> the<br />

additional fee owing. If the requesting attorney ordered a copy of the<br />

transcript, send it along with appropriate billing.<br />

e. For indigent felony defendants:<br />

Complete the indigent voucher <strong>for</strong>m [Expert Service Claim Form] and mail<br />

to: Board oflndigents' Defense Services, 714 SW Jackson Street, Suite<br />

<strong>Court</strong> reporters shall receive compensation <strong>for</strong> one original transcript in a<br />

single-defendant case appealed to the appellate courts. In multi-defendant<br />

cases appealed to the appellate courts, court reporters shall be compensated<br />

<strong>for</strong> one original transcript and one transcript copy <strong>for</strong> each additional codefendant.<br />
