Aleris Aluminum Bonn GmbH is spe-
cialized in large extrusions and project
business. With Europe’s most modern
large 90MN extrusion press and extra
long run-out length the plant in Bonn is
well prepared to cope with the demands
coming from general engineering, electrical
power supply and distribution, railway,
waterway, road transport, and the
aircraft and defence industries.
Aleris’ key to success is to support the
OEMs with expertise and engineering
know-how in extrusions and components
manufacturing as part of the product
development with professional project
handling.
On-site aluminium welding facilities and
machining equipment are designed to
handle heavy duty profi les and over-
sized modular assemblies. Customers
appreciate a single point of contact before,
during and after the projects and
the ability to receive all goods from a
single partner.
Welding of assemblies
The applied welding processes are: MIG
for automated and MIG / TIG for manual
welding. The equipment for the auto-
mated welding of long panels like fl oors,
roofs, bulkheads, hulls, ramps, etc. has
a range of 26,000 x 3,600 mm.
Machining and milling
Aleris Bonn has two high performance
cutting CNC Machining Centers designed
for milling of tailor-made aluminium sections,
in particular for:
single main extrusions
for structural parts
welded subassemblies e.g.
fl oor plates, roofs, bulkheads, hulls.
