UNLEASH YOUR CREATIVITY! 

This summer relax and nurture your mind 

and spirit by taking an art class! With three 

summer terms, only four or five weeks each, 

you can experience a sampling of different 

classes. I hope, as you explore this catalog, 

you will find the perfect class to ignite your 

urge to create. 

If you are looking to jumpstart your creativity, 

enroll in the “Off the Wall Sculpture, Painting, 

Mixed Media and Mini-Instillation Workshop.” 

The workshop is taught by well-known artist 

and instructor, Miles Laventhall. 

For teens 12-18, we have an extensive variety 

of inspiring workshops and creative classes 

to choose from. Kids ages 5-12 can sign up 

for 1 or more weeks of the School’s 10 week 

Summer Art Camp and further develop their 

artistic and social interaction skills. 

We are also very happy to announce the 

addition of a Teen Special Needs Class: 

“Creative Expression for Teens with Mild to 

Moderate Autism” for ages 14 through 17. 

Picasso once said, “Art washes from the soul

Four-day Photography and Digital 

Arts Camps will provide a unique, 

creative and supportive learning 

environment for young adults. 

Investigate the art of photography 

through hands-on tutorials and 

digital editing techniques using 

Adobe Photoshop. Over the 

course of four days, participants 

learn the aesthetics and technical 

capabilities of digital photography.

This four-day master workshop 

is focused on creating 

multi-media artwork that combines 

drawing, painting, photography, 

assemblage and sculpture skills into 

a powerful narrative. Create new, 

or deconstruct any previous 

drawings, paintings, photos and 

re-assemble them with found 

objects and materials that are 

significant to you, and support your 

concept. 

• Be sure to get a Supplies List of 

simple, yet essential materials 

for this workshop.

state-of-the art acrylic grounds,

9.15 CREATIVE EXPRESSION 

FOR TEENS WITH MILD TO 

MODERATE AUTISM 

Jane Mcintyre 

A new arts program, developed in 

collaboration with FAU Center for 

Autism and Related Disabilities. 

Specifically designed for teens 

between the ages of 14 and 17 

with mild to moderate autism. 

A variety of mediums such as 

drawing, painting, mixed media 

and sculpture will be used to 

enhance the creative process of 

each student. 

This class is a unique opportunity 

for individuals with autism 

interested in the Visual Arts 

to learn and experiment with 

various media in a relaxed 

environment. 

The classes are designed to: 

• Engage the visual, perceptive 

areas of the brain. 

• Increase student’s creative 

expression and self-expression. 

• Provide an opportunity to 

develop relationships between 

the students and each other, as 

well as the instructor.

the mixing of paints from dry

ongoing discussions, critiques 

and demonstrations.

jewelry student who has 

completed at least two previous 

courses in jewelry fabrication. 

Projects may include making 

settings for and setting faceted 

stones, making domes and 

constructing hollow beads, 

inlaying wire in metal, wood and 

stone, reticulation, etching of 

metal and roller printing.

JANE LEVY 

Art metal clay is fine silver or 

bronze in a clay-like form, in which 

the student can create a piece of 

fine art jewelry by using simple 

tools. This medium can be rolled, 

molded, carved and stamped to 

make jewelry and other small 

objects. No experience necessary.

in a kiln to create a luminous

necessary to take designs from 

concept to completion. Beginning 

students are introduced to studio 

equipment, torches and tools 

focusing on the basics of sawing, 

piercing, soldering, riveting, 

surface treatment, filing, sanding 

and polishing. Intermediate 

to advanced students study 

techniques such as hollow beads, 

fold-forming, roller-printing, stone 

setting, forging, chasing and 

tool-making.

2013 – 2014 Museum Policy 

• Classes are filled on a first come, first-served basis. • Individual and Dual 

Museum Members receive a 5% discount off tuition and Family Members or 

higher receive a 10% discount off tuition. • Students who cancel any class five (5) 

days before the first day of camp will receive a tuition refund, less a processing 

fee of $25 for Members and $50 for Non-members. • Students who cancel any 

class less than five (5) days prior to the first day of class will not receive a refund. 

• If a class is canceled, students will be notified at least two (2) days prior to 

the date of class, and tuition will be refunded within three (3) weeks. • Courses 

are subject to cancellation based on enrollment. • No fees will be returned for 

failure to attend. There will be no make-up classes due to a student’s illness, 

unanticipated travel or other reasons are not the responsibility of the Museum. 

• The Boca Museum of Art - The Art School reserves the right to substitute 

instructors due to any emergency or illness. • The Museum is not responsible 

for any artwork or personal items lost, stolen or left in the classrooms or lockers. 

• Full tuition is required at the time of registration. • There is a $35 charge 

for all returned checks. • The Art School is organized for educational purposes 

and offers programs and activities to everyone without regard to race, religion, 

national origin or sexual preference. • With my enrollment, I hereby waive and 

release any and all rights and claims to damages against the Boca Museum of 

Art and The Art School. I accept all risk incidentals and do hereby release the 

Boca Museum of Art and The Art School, its employees and representatives,
