<strong>It</strong> <strong>is</strong>, <strong>Abu</strong> <strong>Dhabi</strong> <strong>Health</strong> Service Company, <strong>SEHA</strong> / HAAD’s aim to ensure that the activities of its<br />
operations are conducted in a manner designed to provide healthy, <strong>and</strong> safe working conditions<br />
<strong>and</strong> to maintain a safe <strong>and</strong> efficient operating practice that complies with national <strong>and</strong><br />
international rules <strong>and</strong> regulations.<br />
<strong>SEHA</strong> / HAAD through the development <strong>and</strong> implementation of its <strong>HSE</strong> Management System<br />
(EHSMS) which <strong>is</strong> based on the requirements of AD EHSMS Degree 42-09 <strong>and</strong> the International<br />
EHSMS <strong>Health</strong> Sector will assure to:<br />

Provide for safe practices in health care facility operation <strong>and</strong> a safe working environment.<br />
Establ<strong>is</strong>h safe guards against all identified r<strong>is</strong>ks.<br />
Continuously improve <strong>HSE</strong> management skills of personnel including preparing for<br />
emergencies related both to <strong>HSE</strong> <strong>and</strong> environmental protection.<br />
These objectives will be achieved by:<br />
The management demonstrates leadership <strong>and</strong> promotes commitment to improve EHSMS<br />
performance through active <strong>and</strong> v<strong>is</strong>ible participation.<br />
Measures performance relative to expectations <strong>is</strong> essential. To improving EHSMS<br />
performance by sharing best practice <strong>and</strong> learning from each other promotes progress.<br />
Constant of endeavor to protect the <strong>HSE</strong> <strong>and</strong> health of all patient employees’ v<strong>is</strong>itors <strong>and</strong><br />
contractors by adhering to establ<strong>is</strong>hed safe work practices.<br />
Safe environmentally sound operations rely on well-trained people, hence ensure that<br />
employees <strong>and</strong> are aware of their EHSMS <strong>and</strong> are trained to fulfill them, are paramount to<br />
our objectives.<br />
Manage all r<strong>is</strong>ks to a level, which <strong>is</strong> as Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALAR.P), by<br />
identification, assessment <strong>and</strong> prioritization. Management of r<strong>is</strong>k <strong>is</strong> a continuous process.<br />
Effective incident investigations, reporting <strong>and</strong> follow-up provide the opportunity to learn<br />
<strong>and</strong> to improve performance, hence determine their root causes <strong>and</strong> corrective actions<br />
necessary to prevent their recurrence.<br />
Preparation <strong>and</strong> planning for emergencies are essential to ensure that all necessary actions<br />
are taken if an incident occurs.<br />
Reduce the impact of our operations on the environment <strong>and</strong> in compliance with<br />
management <strong>and</strong> minimization of environmental r<strong>is</strong>k liabilities must be integral parts of<br />
our operation, <strong>and</strong> a priority.

Actively promote employees’ participation in measures aimed at improving <strong>HSE</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
protecting the environment.<br />
Monitor <strong>and</strong> reduce Medical waste <strong>and</strong> the environmental impact of our business.<br />
Improve efficient use of natural resources <strong>and</strong> energy.<br />
Provide for the safe <strong>and</strong> approved d<strong>is</strong>posal of hazardous waste.<br />
Ensure that the control of em<strong>is</strong>sions <strong>and</strong> the minimization of waste are evaluated in the<br />
design <strong>and</strong> modification of facilities.<br />
All employees are required to be committed to <strong>and</strong> perform their duties according to th<strong>is</strong> EHSMS<br />
policy by following the procedures / instructions contained in the manual <strong>and</strong> also by continuously<br />
reviewing national <strong>and</strong> international EHSMS rules <strong>and</strong> regulations.<br />
