Environmental Health and HSE Policy
It is, Abu Dhabi Health Service Company, SEHA / HAAD’s aim to ensure that the activities of its
operations are conducted in a manner designed to provide healthy, and safe working conditions
and to maintain a safe and efficient operating practice that complies with national and
international rules and regulations.
SEHA / HAAD through the development and implementation of its HSE Management System
(EHSMS) which is based on the requirements of AD EHSMS Degree 42-09 and the International
EHSMS Health Sector will assure to:
Provide for safe practices in health care facility operation and a safe working environment.
Establish safe guards against all identified risks.
Continuously improve HSE management skills of personnel including preparing for
emergencies related both to HSE and environmental protection.
These objectives will be achieved by:
The management demonstrates leadership and promotes commitment to improve EHSMS
performance through active and visible participation.
Measures performance relative to expectations is essential. To improving EHSMS
performance by sharing best practice and learning from each other promotes progress.
Constant of endeavor to protect the HSE and health of all patient employees’ visitors and
contractors by adhering to established safe work practices.
Safe environmentally sound operations rely on well-trained people, hence ensure that
employees and are aware of their EHSMS and are trained to fulfill them, are paramount to
our objectives.
Manage all risks to a level, which is as Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALAR.P), by
identification, assessment and prioritization. Management of risk is a continuous process.
Effective incident investigations, reporting and follow-up provide the opportunity to learn
and to improve performance, hence determine their root causes and corrective actions
necessary to prevent their recurrence.
Preparation and planning for emergencies are essential to ensure that all necessary actions
are taken if an incident occurs.
Reduce the impact of our operations on the environment and in compliance with
management and minimization of environmental risk liabilities must be integral parts of
our operation, and a priority.

Actively promote employees’ participation in measures aimed at improving HSE and
protecting the environment.
Monitor and reduce Medical waste and the environmental impact of our business.
Improve efficient use of natural resources and energy.
Provide for the safe and approved disposal of hazardous waste.
Ensure that the control of emissions and the minimization of waste are evaluated in the
design and modification of facilities.
All employees are required to be committed to and perform their duties according to this EHSMS
policy by following the procedures / instructions contained in the manual and also by continuously
reviewing national and international EHSMS rules and regulations.
