3. Welcome new officers for the 2011-2012 school year.

4. Okesene Mariner, Program Director, “Count On Me” Program will discuss the Walk to School
Program.
5. PTA Budget Report-Annabelle Valencia, PTA Treasure
6. Cookie Dough Fund Raiser-Ice-cream bars for every classroom to thank them for participating in the
fundraiser. The fundraiser ended on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. To thank students for participating in
the fundraiser an ice-cream bar will be given to each child on Friday during their lunch period. A
report of the funds earned from the Cookie Dough Fundraiser.
7. Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week Activities beginning on May 2, to May 6, 2011 will be presented at
this evenings meeting. Recommendations are the result of a sub-committee meeting held with Mrs.

Cordova, Julissa Arvizu, Rhonda Wall and Teacher Appreciation Week Coordinators; Devona Wilson
and Marlee Austin.
8. Bicycles for Kids Grant approved. All 2 nd grade students attending Backman will receive a brand new
Bicycle. In return, the 2 nd grade students and their teachers will kick off a food drive Community
Service Project to collect food for the Utah Food Bank. The food drive will begin on May 16 and will
end on May 26, 2011. We will look forward to everyone who is able to contribute to do so by
donating a packaged food or can good item.
