ACCIDENTS OR ILLNESS AT SCHOOL
Parents are asked to fill in a form giving an address and a telephone number where
they can be contacted should children become ill or have an accident during the school
day. It is vital that you provide us with this information and keep it up to date so that
we can act in the best interests of your child.
Where there is a minor accident at school the office staff will enter your child’s name in
the accident log and send a letter home with your child outlining the nature of the
injury.
MEDICINES
DATA PROTECTION
We prefer not to administer medicine at
school. If you wish us to do so you must visit
the school office to sign a consent form.
Medicine should be clearly labelled with your
child’s name and instructions for
administration. Parents should be aware that
the school will not be responsible for
remembering to give the correct dosage at the
appropriate time, though we will do our best.
If your child needs an asthma inhaler this
must be left at the school office, clearly
marked with your child’s name and dosage
instructions, together with a completed and
signed consent form.
The school and the Local Authority are registered with the data protection agency and
follow their guidance regarding all matters of disclosure about pupils. By law
information may only be disclosed to other persons in accordance with this registration.
The school keeps basic information about pupils on computer to assist with efficient
organisation of the school and the individual’s educational needs. Security measures
are taken to ensure the information is kept confidential.
Children use computers in the computer suite and in their classrooms but they do not
have access to personal records.
If you are concerned about any aspect of personal information held on computer please
speak to the Headteacher.
