The student will be able to:<br />

1. identify religious groups in Ireland<br />

2. give examples of leaders of religious<br />

groups in Ireland<br />

3. explain the/similarities and differences<br />

between these religious communities<br />

4. explain ecumenism.<br />

Explain the concepts of inter-faith<br />

dialogue and ecumenism – reinforce<br />

with photographs, media coverage of<br />

inter denominational events, incidences<br />

of ecumenical controversy – discuss.<br />

Facilitate class discussion on the value/<br />

importance/need for ecumenism.<br />

Design a poster promoting inter-faith<br />

dialogue and ecumenism.<br />

Invite people engaged in the promotion<br />

of inter-faith dialogue or ecumenism to<br />

discuss these issues with the class.<br />
