<strong>Radio</strong> <strong>Disney</strong> Station Manager Todd Loomis, Promotion Manager Florimar Galdon and<br />

Account Executive Yvette Stroehlein hosted an informational breakout session about careers in<br />

the media industry. <strong>Radio</strong> <strong>Disney</strong> assisted in planning this break out with the sponsors. The<br />

event took place on <strong>October</strong> 24, 2012 during the 6 th Annual Career & College Fest at the Florida<br />

State Fairgrounds. Each member of the <strong>Radio</strong> <strong>Disney</strong> team discussed the specific aspects of their<br />

roles in their department (management, promotions & sales) and how they work together. We<br />

also answered questions from the students and discussed the best paths to take to pursue careers<br />

in the highlighted fields.<br />

Todd Loomis, Station Manager for <strong>Radio</strong> <strong>Disney</strong> Tampa Bay, participated in “Selecting the<br />

Best” a virtual classroom course conducted by <strong>Disney</strong> ABC Television Group Learning and<br />

Development on April 27, 2013. The program was designed to equip hiring managers with<br />

additional tools to enhance the success of hiring outstanding talent. Objectives included<br />

understanding short and long term impact of hiring decisions; staying effective, legal and<br />

consistent when interviewing and hiring; value diversity of thought; and enhancing the success<br />

of hiring talent. We also covered topics on ensuring equal opportunity and preventing<br />

discrimination.<br />
