Ruth Hesselyn
It is with great sadness that I inform members of
the sudden death of Ruth in March, as a result of a
climbing accident.
Ruth was an active member of the Alpine Club,
participating in many section trips . She was a
passionate and competent outdoors person and I
along with other committee members enjoyed her
company in the hills greatly.
RIP Ruth
Mt Arrowsmith Images Request
The call for photographs from Mt. Arrowsmith worked wonderfully!
Alice Doughty would like to thank all the mountaineers who contributed photographs of the
Cameron Glacier. Her studies on the impact of snow avalanches on glacier mass balance is made
clearer by these images and the photographer(s) will be acknowledged with each time their photo
appears in a presentation. She believes there is great potential for scientists to learn from general
observations people make while in the mountains and your cooperation is appreciated.
