9. EQUIPMENT REQUEST AND PROPOSED EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN<br />
Equipment required for deep seismic reflection profiling:<br />
ARAM24 seismic reflection recording system<br />
24 bit Delta-Sigma technology<br />
240 active channels<br />
10 Hz geophones<br />
4x IVI 30,000 lb Vibrators<br />
and all necessary equipment to run a deep seismic survey.<br />
A separate proposal may be submitted to undertake passive listening experiments during the<br />
collection of the seismic reflection work.<br />
Design:<br />
At this stage it is suggested that the survey will have the following parameters:<br />
40m geophone group interval<br />
40m or 80m Vib interval,<br />
giving a sub-surface coverage of 120 or 60 fold Vibroseis data<br />
18 - 20 s record length<br />
3 or 4 sweeps of approx 8-12 sec sweep length covering the frequency range 8Hz to 110 Hz.<br />
(the latter parameters will be determined during initial field experiment's and constantly<br />
monitored for suitability).<br />
