Logic IIx and Circle Surround reproduction, the SR4002<br />
provides high current, wide band audio amplification,<br />
capable of generating 80 watts of discrete power into all 7<br />
channels. With Current Feedback technology and a robust<br />
power transformer the SR4002 also has ample capabilities to<br />
drive low impedance loudspeakers. The most remarkable for<br />
todays receiver is for sure the HDMI video switching<br />
capability. Simply connect up to three digital sources to the<br />
receiver and run one HDMI cable to the TV set. The<br />
SR4002 guarantees best audio-video quality combined with<br />
ease of use. There is no need to change the input on the TV<br />

button with the learnable backlit system remote control. This<br />

The SR4002 includes the most advanced 32-bit Digital Signal<br />
Processing circuitry decoding and the latest generation of<br />
digital surround sound such as Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby THX<br />
Surround EX, Dolby Digital EX, DTS ES, DTS Neo:6, Circle<br />
Surround II, and Dolby Pro-Logic IIx. The receiver provides<br />
an enveloping 7.1 channel playback of any multi-channel<br />
program, whether it's movie soundtracks or music, within the<br />

8 channel audio from any source<br />
Pro Logic IIx is the first and only technology to process any<br />
native stereo or 5.1 signal into a 6.1- or 7.1- channel output. A<br />
product of Dolby Labs, Pro Logic IIx is a complete surround<br />

from stereo as well as 5.1-channel encoded sources. On<br />
playback systems with four surround speakers, become<br />

Dolby Pro Logic IIx technology features Movie and Music<br />

MRAC auto speaker setup<br />
To get the best audio experience possible the SR5002 uses the<br />
the MRAC system. Marantz' own MRAC (Marantz Room<br />
Acoustis Calibration) auto speaker set-up optimizes the sound<br />
for best room acoustics.<br />
Surround sound via your stereo headphones<br />
Dolby Headphone technology allows users to listen to music,<br />
watch movies, or play video games with the dramatic<br />
surround effects of a 5.1-channel soundtrack through any set<br />
of headphones. Best of all, "listener fatigue," a phenomenon<br />
commonly associated with headphone playback, is replaced<br />
by a spacious, natural sound field that listeners can enjoy for<br />
hours.<br />
Current Feedback power amplification<br />
The SR4002 features fully discrete 7 channel amplifier section<br />
capable of delivering 80 watts of high-current amplification,<br />
for continuously clean and stable power into each of the 7<br />
channels. Marantz Current Feedback amplification is well<br />
known with original circuit technology accomplishments from<br />
the HiFi amplifier field. Due to the introduction of Multi<br />
Channel Music software (Super Audio CD, DVD-Audio) and<br />
an increasing amount of universal disc players, <strong>AV</strong> <strong>Receiver</strong>'s<br />
require higher performance not only for digital surround<br />
sound from DVD, but also for analog multi-channel. Even in<br />
the DVD Video world the amount of higher quality software<br />
increases with formats like DTS 96/24. Marantz Current<br />
Feedback amplifier technology fits perfectly with the high<br />
requirements set for Multi Channel Music software providing<br />
wide-bandwidth and high-speed reproduction. The<br />
impedance at the Current Feedback point is limited. resulting<br />
in a very low phase shift. The SR4002 can therefore keep the<br />
phase compensation via Negative FeedBack (NFB) to a<br />
minimum, resulting in high through-rate, excellent transient<br />
response and superb sonic transparency for the full<br />
bandwidth up to 100kHz.
Video conversion<br />
The SR4002 is equipped with a high quality video<br />
conversion. It can up convert the Composite signal to<br />
S-Video; as well as down conversion from S-Video to<br />
composite (the component signal is not down<br />
converted). This feature allows you to<br />
connect one video cable between the SR4002 and the<br />
display. All the video switching for your several<br />
sources will be done by the receiver, it does not matter<br />
which signal is provided from the source. In order to<br />
avoid synchronization and eroded video quality<br />
problems, the SR4002 has a high quality video converter<br />
equipped with digital video processing.<br />
High-Definition Multimedia Interface<br />
HDMI combines high-definition video and superb<br />
audio in a single digital interface with a bandwidth of<br />
up to 5 Gigabits per second. HDMI1.1 on the SR4002<br />
complies with High-bandwidth Digital Content<br />
Protection (HDCP) technology protecting high-value<br />
content from unauthorized reproduction and<br />
distribution. HDMI1.1 is the only interface in consumer<br />
electronics that can carry both high-definition video<br />
and multi-channel audio (e.g. Dolby Digital and DTS) in<br />
all HD formats, including 720p and 1080i. With only a<br />
single cable connection all information can be<br />
transmitted including commands to simply control the<br />
entire system.<br />
Functional convenience<br />
The SR4002 is equipped with 2 Component inputs to<br />
connect your video source through the centre of your<br />
home entertainment. It provides one touch switching of<br />
video and audio, with high quality reproduction. Feeds<br />
useful information onto the screen via the user-friendly<br />
OSD. Heavy duty speaker binding posts and an<br />
extensive array of both analog and digital in- and<br />
outputs are on the back. The SR4002 has an extensive<br />
feature list, such as auto preset tuning (program up to 50<br />
stations), manual station naming, front panel cursor<br />
