Light-Emitting Diode (LED)<br />
An LED emits photons when it is forward biased.<br />
These can be in <strong>th</strong>e infrared or visible spectrum.<br />
The forward bias voltage is usually in <strong>th</strong>e range of 2 V to 3 V.<br />
