Fixed Prosthetics<br />

Several abutment systems for cementable as wel as screwable<br />

fixed prosthetics on <strong>Dyna</strong> Helix ® implants are available. Optimal<br />

aesthetics can easily be achieved by individualising different abutments<br />

intra-orally or in the laboratory. The excellent characteristics<br />

of the <strong>Dyna</strong> Octalock ® connection prevent the abutment screw from<br />

loosening, microleakage and assure a reliable impression technique<br />

(fastened with 30-35 Ncm torque). The one-fits-all abutment design<br />

combined with only one abutment screw provides a versatile and<br />

user-friendly system for crown- and bridgework.<br />

Titanium Straight, Anlged (18°) and Straight XL abutments are<br />

individually grindable. In that way the chamfer line can folow the<br />

gingiva and anti-rotation for the crown can be accomplished. All<br />

abutments are deliverd with a universal abutment screw (81AS0).<br />

In case the individual shape cannot be realised with custom<br />

made abutments, a gold or plastic universal abutment can be<br />

chosen, or nowadays even an individual zirconium abutment.<br />

Screwed as well as cemented constructions can be fabricated.<br />

The universel (cast (to)) abutment is available with octagon<br />

(single toothreplacement and cementable constructions) and<br />

without octagon (screwble bridgeconstructions).<br />

Individual Zirconium abutments can be fabricated via <strong>Dyna</strong>. The<br />

model can be scanned in order that an abutment can be modelled<br />

on it. Modelling can be taken care of by <strong>Dyna</strong>, but with the<br />

necessary software also can be done by yourself. As soon as<br />

the definitive design has been made, an individual abutment<br />

incl. titanium octa insert and fixation screw will be fabricated.<br />

Because of different platformconnections of the implants the<br />

height of the abutment varies with approximately 0,35mm more<br />

or less (see overview for e.g.the straight and angled abutments):<br />

All abutments, except the extension abutments, can be tightened by means of the <strong>Dyna</strong> Hex driver. This Hex driver is<br />

available in 3 types, standard (5181S), long (5181L) and short (5181C). Extension abutments can be tightened with a Single<br />

Slot driver (5081S). The latest ball abutments can be tightened with a Square driver (10ST1), the former types have a<br />

hexagon connection on top and therefore still utilize the Hex drivers.<br />

Each of the afore mentioned drivers can be used in combination with the <strong>Dyna</strong> Torq Wrench, so that the abutments, if<br />

necessary, can be put on torque (30Ncm for all abutments, but 35Ncm for extension abutments and no torque for Healing<br />

and Impression abutments without octagon). Moreover there is a Grip Device (5381) available for all drivers to be able to<br />

achieve more grip when screwing in an abutment by hand.<br />

Determination o f h e i g h t<br />

Determination of height can easily be done by eans of the <strong>Dyna</strong> healing<br />

abutments. There is a choice in different types depending on the<br />

type of construction that has been chosen. By means of the markings<br />

the height of the definitive abutments can be determined simpler.<br />

So accurately measure the Gingiva<br />

Height (GH) after the healing period<br />

= distance between the upper side<br />

of the implant and the gingiva<br />

The standard healing abutment ø 4mm has height markings on 2 and<br />

4mm and has a total height of 6mm (82HE6).<br />

For removable prosthetics different abutment systems are available.<br />

Each has its own indication area and unique characteristics.<br />

The use of a Torq wrench (30Ncm for all abutments, but 35Ncm for<br />

extension abutments) in combination with the <strong>Dyna</strong> Octalock connection<br />

prevents loosening of the abutments.<br />

Looking at hygiene aspects, the following heights above<br />

the gingiva are recommended:<br />

Two types of completely prefabricated titanium bar systems. Both<br />

bars can be found in the pricelist and manuals.<br />

An extension abutment of 5mm (82EO5) has the same internal connection<br />

as an implant and is available for increasing the height of<br />

excisting abutments<br />

Besides that there is also a range of extension abutments with the<br />

name Extension level extension abutments, available in the heights<br />

2, 3, 4, 5 and 6mm (82EL2 till 82EL6). These abutments can be used<br />

on implant level and in combination with special abutments. Extension<br />

level abutments 0mm are available for magnet (82EM0), ball<br />

(82EB0C), cementable bar (89BR0), bar goldcylinder (89BG0) and<br />

bar POM cylinder (89BP0). In the bar sets a special extension level<br />

abutment screw (82ES0) is enclosed. This screw is also available in<br />

a longer version (82ES1).<br />

<strong>Dyna</strong> Helix ® DC/ST implants are, first of all, designed for two-phase<br />

surgery. Under special circumstances, when all conditions are met,<br />

these can also be used in one-phase surgery. For these situations<strong>Dyna</strong><br />

fabricated special tulip shaped healing abutments that make stitching<br />

of the mucosa under the abutment possible. These abutments<br />

are available in the heights 3.5mm, 4.5mm and 5.5mm (83HE35,<br />

83HE45, 83HE55). These healing abutments also have heightmarkings<br />

at 2 and 4 mm.<br />

The healing abutments ø 5mm for fixed constructions are available<br />

in the heights 2mm, 4mm and 6mm (81HE2, 81HE4, 81HE6). Height<br />

markings are available at 2, 3 and 4mm. The healing abutment ø<br />

6mm (81HA6) only has a marking at 3mm and is used for preparing<br />

the sulcus on using the <strong>Dyna</strong> Angled and Straight XL abutments.<br />
