She ended her presentation with a list of
recommendations to broadcasters, including
suggestions that they should produce news
and documentaries detailing the needs and
child appropriate, non-exploitative content
delivered in a safe environment; respect
The meeting continued through the day with five working
sessions exploring the following themes: trends in
children’s broadcasting; the challenges of developing
innovative and creative programme content for children
and of financing such quality programming; the need for
programmes about children, particularly those focusing on
the needs and concerns of children living in difficult and
often dangerous circumstances; and the importance of
child participation in research for and production of
programmes for and about children.
