Workshops involved participants taking photos
of local places and learning the technical and
artistic aspects of digital photography. The
theme of the workshops ‘Place and Belonging’
gave participants the opportunity to tell their
stories about life in their town.
The project continues in 2010 with further
workshop culminating in a selection of photos
that will be used to produce a second Voices,
of the Wheatbelt photography book, a new
website and local exhibitions in each town.
hundreds of years old in caves of a granite
outcrop. They then visited the Djurin mission
site where they were taught how to cook
people who grew up on the mission. The day
finished off with a kangaroo banquet at the
historic ‘Prev’ along with singing, guitar playing
and stories.
