indigenous regional programs 2009 ANNUAL REPORT We are committed to empowering and supporting the cultural capital of Indigenous people in Western Australia. We understand that to empower Indigenous people and effectively affirm their culture requires long-term commitment and resourcing from partner agencies. Since 2007, CAN WA has operated an Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development Office in Kellerberrin, working directly with the communities of the Eastern Wheatbelt. Over the past triennium, the Indigenous regional program has seen significant expansion. In 2009, we began the first stages of implementing a similar Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development office in Southern Wheatbelt. 15
