9th January 2006. The day I had been awaiting for months had
finally arrived. It was the glorious day of enrolment for all 1 st year
STM students. After going through the simple registration
procedures and the vigorous cleaning process of my new room, I
proceeded downstairs to meet with other 1 st year students and the
members of the Student Committee. A young man named Kevin
introduced himself as the President of the Student Committee and
gave us a short briefing before he brought us to the destination of
the day, the food court at Taman Blossom, where we enjoyed a
well-deserved dinner after the hard work we had put into cleaning
our rooms. After dinner, the thoughtful Committee members
brought us to Giant Hypermarket to buy necessities that we might
have forgotten to bring from home. The eventful day ended with us
spending the night adapting to our respective rooms, pondering
what might be awaiting us in the coming days.
The rest of the week was filled with activities of different kinds.
We had sessions of ice breakers so that we could get to know the
rest of the 1 st year students and the Committee members. Briefings
were also given to us in order for us to understand the guidelines
and rules of STM. We were even given a free tour around the
campus to help us get familiarized with the surroundings. The best
activity of the week was the bowling session at Golden Bowl
Seremban. It was a wonderful time of fun, interaction and
fellowship between the students and the lecturers.
Although the orientation week was packed with various activities, it
was definitely an enriching and edifying experience for all, which
could only be made possible through the diligent efforts of the
Student Committee and the thoughtfulness of the STM Faculty.

一 月 九 日 , 一 个 我 等 待 已 久 的 日 子 终 于 临
到到 了 。 这 一 天 是 所 有 第 一 年 学 生 加 入 STM
的 日 子 。 当 我 完 成 了 简 单 的 登 记 手 续 及 疲
累 的 房 间 清 理 工 作 后 , 就 到到 楼 下 和 其 他 第
一 年 学 生 和 学 生 会 委 员 们 会 面 。 这 时 , 有
一 位 弟 兄 名 叫 启 荣 就 自 我 介 绍 为 学 生 会 主
席 。 当 他 讲 解 一 些 事 项 后 , 便 带 我 们 去
Taman Blossom 的 小 贩 中 心 享 用 晚 餐 。 晚
餐 后 , 委 员 们 非 常 体 贴 的 带 我 们 去 巨 人 霸
级 市 场 , 让 我 们 购 买 一 些 必 需 品 。 然 后 ,
我 们 就 回 到到 宿 舍 渡 过 在 STM 的 第 一 个 夜
晚 。
迎 新 周 接 下 来 的 整 个 星 期 充 满 了 各 式 各 样
的 活 动 。 我 们 通 过 破 冰 游 戏 更 进 一 步 认 识
彼 此 。 我 们 也 听 到到 不 少 解 说 使 到到 我 们 能 够
更 了 解 STM 的 条 规 。 委 员 们 也 免 费 带 我 们
游 览 整 个 学 院 的 周 围 以 让 我 们 对 此 环 境 更
加 熟 悉 。 整 个 星 期 最 精 彩 的 活 动 当 然 非 保
龄 球 赛 莫 属 。 通 过 保 龄 球 比 赛 , 我 们 有 机
会 与 讲 师 们 有 更 密 切 的 团 契 。
虽 然 , 迎 新 周 的 活 动 很 频 密 , 但 对 每 个 参
与 者 来 说 , 这 的 确 是 个 丰 富 与 难 忘 的 经
历 。 迎 新 周 能 够 顺 利 进 行 也 得 归 功 于 学 生
会 和 校 方 的 周 到到 的 策 划 。

STM was blessed to have Dr. Thomas Harvey from Trinity Theological College, Singapore to share on the theme
of "Maturity and Ministry". Before speaking on the practical aspects of ministry and the church and minister, he laid
the theological foundation by looking at "Immaturity and the Fall" in Genesis 3 and salvation as a lifelong
vocation of obedience and submission to God and His word based on Hebrews 5:7-6:3. He has certainly challenged
us to reflect more deeply on a very important issue, especially in the context of the seminary where people are being
trained to be ministers.

我 们 深 感 荣 幸 由 来 自 三 一 神 学 院 的 Thomas Harvey 博 士 来 到到 学 院 分 享 主 题 “ 成 熟 与 事 工 ”。 在 还 没 进 入 正 题
时 ,Harvey 博 士 藉 由 创 世 纪 3 章 之 “ 不 成 长 与 堕 落 ” 和 希 伯 来 书 5 章 7-6 节 之 顺 从 神 的 人 是 永 远 救 恩 的 根 源 来
看 其 神 学 基 础 。 他 也 挑 战 我 们 对 重 要 的 时 事 要 有 更 深 切 的 反 思 。 由 其 在 神 学 院 的 处 境 中 及 被 装 备 来 服 侍 的 学
员 们 。
