Ten STM lecturers and all the first year students went to Ipoh
on 11 th and 12 th February, 2006 at the invitation of the Ipoh
Theological Center (ITC) and churches in Ipoh. This was for
the purpose of attending the ITC annual thanksgiving
service and to conduct STM Sundays in the local churches.
Planning and preparations were initiated by the students. The
bond between them was strengthened during rehearsals for the
trip. For the students, it was their first trip together and there
was excitement when they arrived about 2.00pm on Saturday.
Throughout the journey,
there was fun, laughter and
sharing. Prior to the night
meeting, we tasted Ipoh’s
f a mo u s c u isine “ Ip o h
Chicken and Bean Sprouts”.
For some, it was the first
time tasting this special and
delicious food.
The students were divided
into two groups (English department and Chinese department)
and they conducted separate STM night meetings. The
students gave their very best for the program; one of them was
so sincere in her acting that her tears flowed during the sketch.
The audiences were encouraged and strengthened; some even
committed their lives desiring to serve God in the near future.
On Sunday morning, students followed the lecturers to
different churches for the Sunday service. Lecturers shared the
sermon and students gave their testimonies. In the afternoon,
everyone attended the ITC annual thanksgiving service and
left Ipoh at night. As we journeyed back, each of the students
shared about their experience of the trip. We thank God for the
many sweet memories and positive lessons.
2006 年 2 月 11-12 日 , 学 院 应 怡 保 神 学 中 心 及 怡 保
教 会 的 邀 请 下 由 10 位 讲 师 及 全 体 第 一 年 生 一 同
出 发 到到 怡 保 。 我 们 在 下 午 2 点 到到 达 , 有 许 多 学 生
是 第 一 次 到到 怡 保 。 在 晚 上 聚 会 之 前前 , 我 们 享 用
怡 保 出 名 的 “ 芽 菜 鸡 ”。
然 后 , 学 生 们 分 成 两 组 ( 英 文 部 及 中 文 部 ) 个
别 在 不 同 的 教 会 负 责 神 学 之 夜 。 学 生 们 都 很 投
入 在 所 负 责 活 动 。 有 一 位 学 生 在 演 戏 时 , 真 情
流 入 并 且 流 下 了 眼 泪 。 在 座 的 会 众 也 被 受 激
励励 , 有 些 愿 意 将 一 身 奉 献 为 主 使 用 。
在 星 期 日 早 上 , 学 生 们 将 跟 随 不 同 的 讲 师 到到 不
同 的 教 会 崇 拜 。 讲 师 们 分 享 神 学 事 工 及 学 生 们
分 享 见 证 。 在 下 午 的 时 候 , 全 体 讲 师 及 学 员 们
一 起 出 席 怡 保 神 学 中 心 一 年 一 度 的 感 恩 崇 拜 。
我 们 在 晚 上 时 离 开 怡 保 。 在 回 程 中 , 学 生 们 个
别 分 享 他 们 的 经 历 。 感 谢 主 让 学 生 们 有 一 个 美
好 的 回 忆 及 学 习 。
