As<br />
we have noted in past issues, there is no shortage of thanks extended from <strong>Korean</strong>s to the<br />
veterans who fought for theirs and their own and their predecessors’ freedom over fifty years<br />
ago. Here are more results.<br />
Members OF CID 281– Rolla [MO] Guests of Pulaski County <strong>Korean</strong> Association<br />
Chapter members were invited<br />
recently as guests of honor to<br />
dine with and to be entertained<br />
by the Pulaski County <strong>Korean</strong><br />
Association in St. Robert, MO.<br />
<strong>The</strong> event was held Saturday,<br />
Sept. 29, 2007 during the traditional<br />
<strong>Korean</strong> Thanksgiving celebration<br />
known as “Chuseok.” St.<br />
Robert, which borders on <strong>For</strong>t<br />
Leonard Wood, has a sizable<br />
<strong>Korean</strong> Community, most of<br />
whom are <strong>Korean</strong> women married<br />
to American soldiers.<br />
During the program, Col. John<br />
Megnia, <strong>For</strong>t Leonard Wood garrison<br />
commander, thanked both<br />
American military veterans and<br />
Republic of Korea forces for<br />
their services. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Korean</strong>s then<br />
presented a certificate of appreciation<br />
and a 50th <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong><br />
Anniversary medallion to <strong>Korean</strong><br />
<strong>War</strong> veterans.<br />
<strong>Korean</strong>s young and old, including<br />
drummers, dancers and<br />
singers, provided excellent<br />
entertainment.<br />
