Calling All Graduates of the 27 USMC Special Basic Classes of the <strong>Korean</strong> Era for<br />

<strong>2013</strong> Reunion<br />

In an effort to build Esprit de Corps among veteran <strong>Mar</strong>ine officers by bringing as<br />

many of them as possible together at a reunion, officers from 11 <strong>Korean</strong> Era SBCs<br />

gathered last year in San Diego for a first-ever combined reunion. Due to its success,<br />

the USMC All <strong>Korean</strong> SBC Classmates <strong>2013</strong> Reunion will be held for all 27 <strong>Korean</strong><br />

era SBCs in San Antonio, Texas, November 1-4, <strong>2013</strong>.<br />

“We’re asking for everyone to please help spread the word so we can reach as many<br />

folks as possible,” said reunion co-chair John Featherstone. “Without rosters, our<br />

challenge is locating and contacting our former members. We know the benefit to all<br />

those who attend our reunions is invaluable. Coming together provides a tremendously<br />

heart-felt sense of community and pride.”<br />

All <strong>Korean</strong> Era <strong>Mar</strong>ine Corps Officers SBCs 1-27, from June 1950 through 1954,<br />

School Class, name, address, phone number and email address.<br />

The USMC All <strong>Korean</strong> SBC Classmates <strong>2013</strong> Reunion will offer a mixture of military<br />

related activities and ample socializing opportunities. At past reunions, keynote speakers<br />

and special guests have included the 32nd Commandant of the <strong>Mar</strong>ine Corps and<br />

14th Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General James L. Jones; the 16th<br />

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Peter Pace; the 34th Commandant of<br />

the <strong>Mar</strong>ine Corps, General James L. Conway; the current commander of all US and<br />

NATO forces in Afghanistan, General Joseph F. Dunford; and the 29th Commandant<br />

of the <strong>Mar</strong>ine Corps and graduate of the 14th SBC General Alfred M. Gray.<br />

Other SBC graduate flag officers, including General George C. Crist and Lt. General<br />

D’Wayne Gray, both of the 15th SBC, and Major Generals Dean Sangalis and Bill<br />

Groeniger, both of the 17th SBC, also have attended our reunions.<br />
