Rain sample - Major ions <strong>and</strong> nutrients<br />

The sample was collected from a greenhouse roof in Grimsby, Ontario. It was centrifuged <strong>and</strong> filtered <strong>and</strong> several<br />

years later was modified to represent acid rain by addition of nitric <strong>and</strong> sulfuric acids. Many of the 52 laboratories<br />

which participated in the PE studies are accredited <strong>and</strong> traceable to NIST <strong>and</strong> other CRMs.<br />
