Responding to the shortage of professional<br />
nurses in the area, the New York State LPN to<br />
RN Transition course creates a pathway to<br />
encourage Licensed Practical Nurses to<br />
advance in their careers. This course will<br />
facilitate your transition from the role of Practical<br />
Nurse to that of a student preparing for the role<br />
of Registered Nurse. It will validate your prior<br />
learning and update your knowledge, focusing on critical thinking and problem<br />
solving skills.<br />
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to earn a minimum<br />

For the nurse who requires a refresher, the new graduate who requires increased<br />
competence, and the nursing student who requires practice. Sharpen your physical<br />
assessment skills and increase your competency in performing auscultation, percussion,<br />
palpation, and inspection in this one day workshop. Collect assessment data<br />
through evaluation of each body system, build reasoning through data analysis, and<br />
conduct a complete physical assessment. Gain hands on experience in our upgraded<br />

New York State law requires all licensed health care professionals to receive training in<br />
infection control and barrier precautions every four years. If you are a licensed health<br />
care worker, this 2.5 hour NYS Education Department approved course will satisfy your<br />
licensure requirement and increase your knowledge of new drug resistant pathogens as<br />
well as occupational risks and current immunization practices for health care workers.<br />
