Services providing Drug Related Interventions & Education for Young People in Lambeth Youth Offending Service Address 1 - 9 Acre Lane Brixton, London SW2 5SD Phone number 020 7926 2644 (Fax 020 7926 2639) Website http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/Services/ CommunityLiving/YouthOffending/ E-Mail yot@lambeth.gov.uk Target Group for service Any young person who has been arrested for an offence Age range served Up to 17 years Role of agency overall Works with young people at risk of offending or already in the criminal justice system and their families to prevent offending through a multiagency approach. The YOS uses quality and timely assessments to understand young people’s needs, meets the needs of young people through delivering excellent intervention plans and gives young people clear boundaries by enforcing National Standards. Role of agency in addressing The YOS have a full time drug worker based in the drug use by young people team, seconded by ACAPS, they work with other YOS staff to help young people overcome substance misuse problems that may be a risk factor in their offending behaviour. The YOS also have a substance misuse worker based at the Resettlement and Aftercare Provision (RAP) at Wynne Road. This is a voluntary programme for young people who have been in custody and may have drug or alcohol related leisure opportunities, education training and employment assistance, housing advice and counselling. There may be scope to offer this to all YOS clients in the future. 16
