Alumni Board of Directors Service Day 3/19/05<br />

Grumblethorpe Manor, Germantown, Philadelphia<br />

The Alumni Association Board of Directors recently spent a day of service at the Grumblethorpe<br />

Historic Manor in Germantown. Once owned by the Wister family, the manor has played a key<br />

role in the history of Germantown since the early 18th century. The Board of Directors, along with<br />

the help of <strong>La</strong> <strong>Salle</strong>’s women’s soccer team, provided the muscle for a much-needed spring<br />

cleaning.<br />

Carolina Club, Game Watch Party 3/5/05<br />

The Carolina Alumni Club gathered to catch our <strong>La</strong> <strong>Salle</strong> Explorers take on the Temple Owls at a<br />

favorite local sports bar in Charlotte. Thanks to the efforts of Scott Campbell and Jim Bryan, this was<br />

Alumni from the Naples, Fla., area gathered to welcome Brother<br />

Michael J. McGinniss, F.S.C., Ph.D., ’70, recently. Br. Michael provided<br />

alumni and guests with some good news from campus, including the<br />

reconfiguration of 20th Street, the expansion of the Bucks County campus,<br />

and the near completion of the St. Basil Residence Hall. Here, Br.<br />

Central Pennsylvania Chapter, Night at the Races 4/14/05<br />

The Central Pennsylvania Chapter recently gathered for a “Night at<br />

the Races” at the Penn National Racetrack. <strong>La</strong> <strong>Salle</strong> alumni (left) Jerry<br />

McAvoy, ’74, and (right) Sean Sabol, ’02, presented the winning jockey<br />

of the first race with the championship trophy.<br />
