To complete their very successful CADET<br />

150 year, cadets from across the region have<br />

planted 2,000 new trees at Altcar Training<br />

Camp. 100 Merseyside Army <strong>Cadets</strong>, Sea<br />

<strong>Cadets</strong>, Air <strong>Cadets</strong> and cadets from Merchant<br />

Taylors and St Mary’s CCF took part.<br />

Camp Comdt, Maj Bill Hunter gave an initial<br />

demonstration before he and NW RF CA Chief<br />

Executive Col Gerry Wells-Cole oversaw the<br />

whole operation. Over 100,000 trees having<br />

been planted at Altcar over the last 20 years.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Mayor of Sefton, Cllr Maureen Fearn and<br />

Consort Frank Winrow also spent some time<br />

with the tree-planting cadets.<br />
