Multiple Degrees Awarded at July Ceremony
Diversity marked the diplomas handed
out during NYCC’s July exercises –
representing, all told, six distinct academic
degrees. Graduates included 28
Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) candidates, 17 Master of
Science in Acupuncture (MSA) or Master of Science
in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MSAOM) and
33 Applied Clinical Nutrition (MSACN). There were
4 from the Master of Science in Diagnostic Imaging
(MSDI), and 1 from the Master of Science in Clinical
Anatomy (MSCA). In addition there were 23 graduates
from the Master of Science in Human Anatomy
& Physiology Instruction (MSHAPI) - the program’s
first graduating class.
Military Service Recognition
Students, faculty, and staff that had served in
the United States military were recognized for their
service. In acknowledging the many sacrifices made

his service in the United States military.

Military Honor Cords to graduating
students on active duty, and to
those in the guard or reserves or
veterans.

Church, PhD, likened commencement
to a harvest – the time when
effort applied bears fruit. “Strive
to have control over yourself…go
with confidence and boldness into
a world that is waiting to learn what
you know and go with wisdom and
discernment into a world that is
eager to teach you what it knows,”
he advised the master’s candidates.
He intoned the doctorate candidates,
“Be proud but never arrogant
- teach humility. Pay attention to
small things but never be small or
petty – teach perspective. Be lavish
in expressing affirmation and stingy
with complaints - teach generosity.
Let your hands that have been
trained to heal never do violence of
any kind – teach peace. Give a fair
share of time to those who cannot
afford to pay you – teach justice.
Let your eyes see the large scenes,
your minds see the patterns implicit
in the universe - teach wholeness.
Live with joy, with laughter with
compassion – teach hope.
