New Student Assessment and Advising
What is an assessment?
New students are required to take an assessment to enroll in English or
mathematics classes. A computerized assessment is used to assess sentence
skills, reading comprehension, and mathematics skills. Transfer students
may not be required to take the assessment if they have a 2.0 grade level
or higher in college level English or college level algebra. An educational
advisor in the Student Entry and Advising Center (or a faculty advisor) will
make this determination.
Special accommodations
Students who require special accommodations must first contact the Access
Services Office. The office may be reached at 360.475.7540 or on the OC
Bremerton campus in Humanities Building, Rm 114.
