Master of Hospitality Management by Research<br />

Duration: 2 years<br />

Campus: Joondalup + Mount Lawley<br />

Provides advanced, research-based studies in theoretical and<br />

applied areas of Hospitality Management.<br />

Admission Requirements:<br />

Stage 1 (Preliminary): Bachelor degree.<br />

Stage 2 (Thesis): Successful completion of Stage 1, or Bachelor<br />

degree with Honours, or an approved research-based Graduate<br />

Diploma, or an approved equivalent qualification, or appropriate<br />

research preparation.<br />

Non-Standard Timetable Information: Students will be required<br />

to attend classes on both Joondalup and Mount Lawley campuses<br />

to complete this <strong>course</strong>.<br />

Students complete a thesis in an area of study identified during<br />

The thesis component of this <strong>course</strong> is entirely research-based<br />

and equivalent to one year of full-time study.<br />

Each semester students are required to continue re-enrolling in<br />

the thesis component of their study until the thesis is submitted<br />

for examination.<br />

The <strong>course</strong> consists of the preparation of a research proposal, the<br />

conduct of research, the preparation of a thesis, and participation<br />

in seminars and conferences. This research program culminates in<br />

the submission of a thesis.<br />

Admission Requirements:<br />

Master by Research or Bachelor with Honours (First or Upper<br />

Second Class) or equivalent in a relevant area of study, or where<br />

the applicant can demonstrate the capacity to undertake original<br />

PhD-level research.<br />

CourSe StruCture<br />

Students are required to continue re-enrolling in the thesis<br />

component of their study until the thesis is submitted for<br />

examination.<br />

Doctoral candidates will normally complete no less than two years<br />

and no more than four years of full-time equivalent study by the<br />

time their thesis is submitted for examination.<br />

Master of Recreation Management by Research<br />

Duration: 2 years<br />

Campus: Joondalup / Mount Lawley<br />

This research masters is designed to provide advanced, researchbased<br />

studies in theoretical and applied areas of recreation<br />

management. It aims to develop understanding of the state of<br />

knowledge in the discipline area alongside knowledge and ability<br />

relating to research methods and research activity in recreation<br />

management. Students will be engaged in a significant research<br />

investigation resulting in the production of a thesis with either<br />

a theoretical or an applied focus.<br />

Stage 1 (Preliminary): Bachelor degree.<br />

Stage 2 (Thesis): Successful completion of Stage 1, or relavant<br />

Bachelor degree with Honours, or an approved research-based<br />
