were built before independence in 1965, 1963, 1966 and 1963 respectively. There are no<br />

cases of hot seating all the four primary schools and the greater number of teachers is<br />

trained. The ward <strong>has</strong> 1 secondary school known as Sidakeni. The school was established<br />

in 1981. The school <strong>has</strong> got 23 teachers and 490 students. All the schools, both and<br />

primary and secondary are council owned.<br />

6.2 Health Facilities: The ward <strong>has</strong> got only 1 health facility characterised by 8<br />

general beds and 1 nurse. The local people have been greatly assisted by the presence of<br />

this situation since it is fighting the spread of diseases by bringing awareness and by<br />

treatment.<br />

7.0 Ward 8<br />

7.1 Education: There are five primary schools in the ward known as Bamhara,<br />

Commoner, Mopani and Tororo all owned by council. The schools were built in 1964,<br />

1954, 1975, 1963 and 1964 respectively. The ward <strong>has</strong> one of the highest number of<br />

secondary schools in the constituency; consisting of three namely Bhamala, Nyaradzo<br />

and Tororo established all after independence in 1983, 1981 and 1986 respectively. This<br />

great number of secondary schools is important in the delivery of quality education and<br />

for the delivery of education.<br />

7.2 Health Facilities: Ward 8 <strong>has</strong> only 1 health facility known as Rio Tinto clinic.<br />

The clinic is manned by 1 nurse and <strong>has</strong> 2 general beds at its disposal. The facility is<br />

owned by government.<br />

8.0 Ward 9<br />

8.1 Education: There are 3 primary schools in this ward, known as Manzinyama St<br />

Faith, Sengezi and Senkwasi St Pauls. The schools are dominated by trained teachers.<br />

All The schools were built before independence in 1964, 1965 and 1961 respectively.<br />

The ward <strong>has</strong> a secondary school called Manzinyama established in 1982. The school <strong>has</strong><br />

a total enrolment of 436 pupils with most of the teachers being trained.
